The hip-hop group Migos was in a party van early Friday morning that was involved in a gunfight with another vehicle on I-95, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The group's bodyguard was hospitalized after he was shot in the leg by a driver in a vehicle that lined up next to the van and opened fire.
An exchange of gunfire between both vehicles ensued and the bodyguard was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in the party van, FHP said. The other vehicle fled the scene.
The tank of the party van was also hit, causing a diesel fuel spill in front of Ryder Trauma Center at JMH.
Tropper Joe Sanchez confimed that there were eight people in the van. FHP does not know if this was a deliberate “hit” or a road rage incident.
The Miami Fire Department is on the scene to clean up the spill.
