Man in Southwest Florida Repeatedly Called 911, Asked to Be Deported

A man in southwest Florida was arrested after he repeatedly called 911 asking to be deported, authorities said.

Cesar Sanchez, 30, was taken into custody Tuesday on a charge of misuse of 911, the Collier County Sheriff's Office said.

Sanchez made repeated 911 calls as he was biking up and down Bayshore Drive in Naples, telling the operator he wanted to be sent home to Guatemala, NBC 2 reported.

"You called 911. Do you have an emergency?" the operator said in one of the calls.

"I’m very sick. It's not an emergency. I just want them to deport me," Sanchez responded in Spanish.

Deputies arrived and took Sanchez into custody. He remained in jail Friday on $2,000 bond, and it's unknown if he'll be handed over to immigration officials.
