One man is dead after an early morning shooting near Fort Lauderdale Tuesday, as police continue searching for whoever pulled the trigger.

Shortly after 3 a.m., Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene near Northwest 8th Street and 28th Avenue, just west of I-95.

A man was found shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. Family members and authorities identified the victim as 43-year-old Ferris Finley Sr.

"He would do anything for anybody, so I don't know why and who would wanna kill him like this here. I don't know why, oh my God," sister Latrell Turner said.

Family members said Finley was found dead in his pickup truck.

"They didn't rob him, they just killed him," uncle Lucious Ford said. "We're really trying to find out what happened."

Police are investigating a white truck at the scene while looking for the shooter.

"Whoever did this please turn yourself in because he don't deserve this," sister Shannon Ford said. "He don't bother nobody, he really don't bother nobody."
