Police are investigating after a man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Little River just before midnight Friday.
Sources tell NBC 6 that the man was crossing Northwest 79th Street/1st Avenue in Miami's Little River neighborhood with his bicycle when a car struck him.
The car reportedly continued eastbound on Northwest 79th Street without stopping. The impact of the hit was so forceful that the victim's shoes were knocked off. Video at the scene showed the shoes lying in the street, along with the victim's mangled bicycle.
The man, who is in his 60s, was taken to Ryder Trauma Center where he later died.
Police have not released a description of the driver or the vehicle.
