Man Offers Palm Beach Deputy Money to Let Him Go

Officials say a man offered a Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy thousands of dollars to let him go after being stopped for driving under the influence.

An arrest report states that 31-year-old Andrew Metri Salloum was arrested Monday after driving through a red light in Palm Beach Gardens.

A deputy pulled him over on Interstate 95 and noted that he had red, glassy eyes and was slurring his words.

The Palm Beach Post reports that as the deputy took Salloum to the breath alcohol testing center, he offered the deputy $5,000 to let him go. When the deputy said he wasn't going to accept a bribe, the man raised the offer to $7,000.

He faces multiple charges including bribery. It's not known whether he has an attorney.
