Man Rescued After Reported Wrong-Way Crash on Palmetto Expressway

Crews rescued a man who was trapped for several hours inside his car that crashed in northwest Miami-Dade Friday morning.

Chopper 6 was over the scene of the Palmetto Expressway northbound just after NW 58th Street, where the black vehicle could be seen stuck in a construction hole in express lanes that are not yet open.

Rescue crews were able to get the man out through the back passenger side window after it was broken by a first responder.

According to Miami-Dade Police, officers first got a call about a crash around 3:30 a.m., but could not find the car until later in the morning. 

The driver was not hurt and police continue their investigation into the crash, including whether the driver was going the wrong way.
