The Miami Police Department said a man was shot on Tuesday in downtown Miami during what a witness described as a robbery outside of a Whole Foods.
The incident occurred at 299 SE 3 Avenue.
Police said three men were having a discussion outside of Whole Foods when someone pulled out a gun for the robbery.
Shots were fired and a man who was shot ran a few blocks and collapsed.
The man who was shot was transported to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in a stable condition.
"We still have an active scene in downtown Miami as our detectives investigate a robbery and shooting," MPD wrote on Twitter.
Police urge motorists to avoid the area, as some roads are closed.
The suspected shooter is described as a white male in his late 20s who was wearing a yellow shirt and a Gucci cap. Another suspect is in custody.
