Artigas was charged with four counts of aggravated battery and two counts of criminal mischief

A West Park man was arrested after authorities said he repeatedly slammed a woman’s head onto the pavement, knocking four of her teeth out and causing her to suffer internal bleeding.

Roberto Andres Artigas, 29, was arrested Sunday in Hallandale Beach, according to online jail records. He faces four counts of aggravated battery and two counts of criminal mischief and remained in jail on $50,000 bond.

Hallandale Beach Police said the alleged incident began after an argument between Artigas and 46-year-old Michelle Montesi. Artigas then pushed 52-year-old Marilyn May Walden into a bar after she tried to stop the argument, the complaint affidavit said.

Artigas, who then caused $700 in damages to Montesi’s car, drove to her home to remove his belongings, the affidavit said.

In bond court Tuesday, Artigas and Judge John Hurley communicated through a sign language interpreter. Hurley told Artigas that teh court was concerned with his level of violence and the future safety of the victims.

Hurley also ordered Artigas stay away from the alleged victims’ locations should he post bond.
