Man Struck in Hit-and-Run Crash at Northwest Miami-Dade Laundromat

Police are investigating a bizarre series of events at a northwest Miami-Dade laundromat that began with an argument and ended with a man hospitalized after a car crashed into the business and fled the scene early Monday.

The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. at Wash World at 5750 Northwest 27th Avenue.

According to Miami-Dade Police, the incident began as an argument between a woman and the son of an employee of the business.

The woman tried to spray the employee and her son with an unknown liquid before she got into her car, police said.

Witnesses and police said the woman slammed the car through the entrance of the 24-hour laundromat, hitting the man inside.

"First, she hit reverse, came forward, and then he saw there was no escape; so he just leaped onto the hood," said Cherry Davis. "Otherwise, it could've been much worse, much worse. It's a miracle."

The car then fled the scene.

The man has been released from Jackson Memorial Hospital. He has a broken leg and had to get stitches after the incident.

The crash left the front of the business damaged, with shattered glass scattered on the pavement and inside.

Police said they are still looking for the driver who is described as being in her late 20's, 5'2", and driving a beige four-door Chevy Caprice.
