Authorities are searching for a man who they say tried to abduct a 12-year-old girl in Miami.
The victim told investigators she was walking on Northwest 57th Street near Northwest 1st Street around 6 a.m. on Friday when she was approached by the man, Miami Police officials said.
The man tried to ask the girl a few questions but she ignored him and kept walking. He then grabbed her by the hair and waist and tried to pull her toward him but she was able to break free and run to safety as the suspect fled the scene, police said.
Police on Monday released a sketch of the suspect, who they described as a black male with a slim build, about 20 to 30 years old. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
