Man Wanted for Robbing, Assaulting Woman at Hotel: MDPD

Miami-Dade Police are looking for a man following a bad date.

Investigators said after a woman refused his advances, he then managed to get into her hotel room, where he attacked and robbed her.

Surveillance video shows a man convincing a hotel employee that he lost his room key. Police said he then walked off, and moments later, slipped into a room and beat up a woman.

It happened back in June at the Estancia Suites Hotel right next to Miami International Airport.

Police said the two grabbed a bite at a nearby Wendy's. At the end of the night, he made sexual advances. She wasn't interested and retreated to her room.

"He began knocking on the door and asking her to open the door," explained Det. Marjorie Eloi. "Once the knocking stopped, the victim must have believed that the guy took off, and unfortunately, he wasn't over with the incident, and he decided to go over to the management's office."

Video shows his SUV pulling into the hotel, and then the man convincing the clerk that he lost his room key.

The police report said a hotel security guard is the one who unlocked the victim's door. The suspect closed it, allegedly assaulted the woman and then took off.

Medics treated the woman at the scene.

"We are asking the public's help in identifying this gentleman in this video. They can call Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS," Det. Eloi said.

Police said the suspect got away with the victim's cellphone and wallet containing $400. He was driving a silver Cadillac Escalade with chrome wheels.
