Man Wanted in South Miami Home Invasion Robbery Arrested: Police

A man accused of pistol-whipping a woman in South Miami and stealing her Mercedes and who was wanted in a separate armed home invasion and sexual battery in central Florida has been captured, police said.

Benjamin Victor Hovan, 32, was arrested early Thursday, Casselberry Police officials said.

Hovan is a suspect in Wednesday's robbery at a home in the 6000 block of Southwest 88th Street, where the 62-year-old woman was pistol-whipped and had jewelry and her Mercedes stolen, authorities said.

Police said Hovan is also a suspect in the June 30 armed home invasion and sexual battery that happened in Casselberry. In that case the victim's Toyota Matrix was stolen, police said.

Hovan remained in custody Thursday. Attorney information wasn't available.
