Man Arrested in Quadruple Murder Has Ties to Florida: U.S. Marshals

A man wanted in the killing of four people in Virginia who has ties to Florida, has been arrested authorities said Thursday.

Alexander Roosevelt Hill, 48, is suspected of killing four family members and then setting the house on fire during the Easter weekend in 2014 in Petersburg, Virginia, which is about 20 miles south of Richmond, U.S. Marshals officials said.

Three adults and a 2-year-old child were killed.

Hill fled the Petersburg area shortly after the killings. Four first-degree murder warrants were obtained by police against Hill last week.

The U.S. Marshals Service announced that Hill was captured in Buffalo, New York Thursday after media outlets aired his photo.

Authorities said he was staying in a homeless shelter.
