Man Who Robbed Coral Gables Bank Arrested: FBI

A man who robbed a Coral Gables bank Friday and left behind a briefcase that had to be checked out by a bomb squad has been arrested, FBI officials said.

Jorge L. Farah, 56, was in custody Monday for the robbery at the Marquis Bank at 355 Alhambra Circle, officials said. He's facing federal charges and was expected to make his first court appearance Monday.

Authorities said the robber entered the bank and fled with cash but left behind the briefcase. The area was evacuated while the bomb squad responded to check out the suspicious package.

No one was injured in the robbery.

Farah, of Hialeah, was being held without bond in the Broward County jail, records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
