The FBI and Margate Police teamed up in an investigation against Thomas Swayze, 38, who was arrested Tuesday for sex crimes on a minor.
Authorities said Swayze sexually battered a 12-year-old child for about three to four years.
Police initiated their investigation of Swayze when the FBI said it identified the 38-year-old for downloading child pornography onto his personal computer.
Federal agents executed a search warrant and arrested Swayze. He is currently being held at Broward County Main Jail without bond.
Swayze is charged with two counts of sexual battery and two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation.
