Marlins Continue Road Trip With Four Games Against Nationals

The Marlins will wrap up their latest road trip with a four-game series in Washington, D.C.

The Miami Marlins will finish off a road trip with a four-game series against the Washington Nationals beginning on Monday.

Miami is coming off a series loss to the Atlanta Braves and is looking to take another series from Washington. The Marlins beat the Nationals twice during a three-game series at Marlins Park a week ago. Washington is currently running away with the National League East, while Miami sits in second place.

After a tough start in his last outing, Chris O'Grady will give it another try in the series opener. O'Grady faced these same Nationals on August 1st and allowed six runs in only three innings of work. Prior to that outing, the rookie was performing well and will try to find his rhythm again.

In the second game of the series, the Marlins will turn to Vance Worley. Unlike O'Grady, Worley is coming off a great start against Washington. In that appearance, the veteran tossed seven shutout innings. The outing was Worley's best as a Marlin and he'll look to build on it in this start.

Adam Conley will be Miami's third starter in the series, after allowing three runs to the Braves in 5.2 innings. Conley has done a good job since returning from AAA, but his start in Atlanta had some poor moments. Conley was also the victim of shoddy defense during that start and will look for better results this time around.

In the series finale on Thursday, Dan Straily will start for Miami. Straily has been slumping over the past month, after a strong run of starts. The right-hander slightly turned things around in Atlanta, but still was unable to go six innings. On the season, Straily owns a 3.77 E.R.A to go along with a 7-8 record.

Monday's first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
