MDX Board Approves Toll Freeze

The Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX) announced a toll freeze Wednesday, meaning there will be non future toll increases on the existing MDX system.

In a statement, MDX expressed their commitment to complete the necessary upgrades and modernization of the existing system through the current financing plan that funds MDX's Five Year Work Program.

The resolution also states that any and all new road projects will have to meet strict financial tests and will require a written expression of support from Miami-Dade county or the municipality where the proposed project lies.

If those requirements aren't met, the project won't move forward to actual construction.

MDX operates and maintains five expressways: SR 112/Airport Expressway, SR 836/Dolphin Expressway, SR 874/Don Shula Expressway, SR 878/Snapper Creek Expressway, and SR 924/Gratigny Parkway.
