Miami Beach Police say they have the man who committed a sexual battery Sunday night on the beach.
Darrell McWilliams was taken into custody Thursday and charged with, among other things, seven counts of sexual battery with a deadly weapon.
He was being held Friday without bond and it's unknown if he has an attorney.
According to police, the 33-year-old McWilliams allegedly assaulted his female victim around 10 p.m. near 21st Street. The victim had reportedly been taking pictures and was walking away from McWilliams when he grabbed and attacked her from behind.
McWilliams then is alleged to have used a sharp object and cut the victim before beginning to sexually assault her. The victim was able to get away and ran to a nearby hotel to call police.
McWilliams was recently released from jail for prior charges that included sexual assault and second degree murder. He is being held on no bond.
