Miami Can't Crack Top 40 Pot Smoking Cities

Gainesville, Jacksonville and Tallahassee make list, Magic City left out

Whenever a list of top drug-using cities comes out, it's essentially a given that Miami will be right in the thick of things.

But a new survey says Miami hasn't completely gone to pot.

In honor of 4/20, the unofficial pot smoking holiday, The Daily Beast compiled a list of the 40 top "Pot Smoking Cities," based on factors including drug use surveys, marijuana possession and sale arrest numbers and "local pot culture."

Three Florida cities -- Gainesville, Jacksonville and Tallahassee -- made the grade, but the Magic City was nowhere to be found.

Not completely surprising, considering Miami's affinity for designer drugs, but still a bit shocking.

Especially considering places like Morgantown, West Virginia and Juneau, Alaska, made the cut.

And Irv Rosenfeld's gotta count for something, right?

Tops on the list was Eureka, California, where The Daily Beast found in a population of 43,778, 11.3 percent are regular pot smokers. Eureka's "Pot Culture" received a perfect "10 out of 10" score.

Tallahassee was second on the list with 10.8 percent of a population of 164,157 found to be regular dopeheads and "6 out of 10" score for pot culture. We're sure that has nothing to do with all those Florida State kids -- or the politicians.
