Police Release Sketch of Woman Whose Remains Were Discovered in Key Biscayne

Homicide detectives are hoping to identify a woman whose skeletal remains were discovered back in 2012 at a park in Key Biscayne.

The Miami-Dade Police Department released a sketch Thursday of a facial reconstruction of the woman, who was most likely over 60 years old at the time of her death.

According to investigators, a park biologist found what appeared to be a human skull between a trail and tree line at Bill Baggs State Park back in April 2012.

The remains were sent to anthropologists and scientists around the country, who were able to determine that the skull was that of a human female and there was no evidence of trauma.

MDPD is seeking the assistance of the public in identifying the woman and more information on her death. Anyone with information should contact CrimeStoppers 305-471-TIPS (8477) or 866-471-8477.
