The lockdown has been lifted at a Northwest Miami-Dade school after police responded to reports of shots being fired in the area Tuesday morning.

Officers arrived at an apartment complex near NW 24th Avenue and 50th Street after the initial call came in and continued searching an apartment complex.

Brownsville Middle School, located nearby, had been placed on lockdown as a precaution for nearly an hour.

Police continue to search the area but have not released details on their investigation or who they may be looking for.
