Two Miami-Dade women are behind bars after police say they assaulted a man following an argument over child support.

Milagros Tiel and Daysi Fernandez were arrested Wednesday afternoon and booked on several charges stemming from the December 2017 incident. The 26-year-old Tiel is being held on two counts, including burglary with assault while the 29-year-old Fernandez has being held on four counts that include armed burglary and armed robbery.

According to a police report, both women – who police say are in a current relationship – arrived at the victim’s home off NW 59th Terrace and 3rd Avenue after Tiel, who is the mother of the victim’s child, and the man argued over child support payments.

Police say the couple broke the victim’s wall air conditioning unit before entering the home, with Fernandez allegedly pointing a machete at the victim's head. The two women later began ransacking the house before both started punching and slapping the victim, according to the report.

Investigators say Fernandez later broke the victim’s phone and tried to take his wallet before fleeing the scene. Police later captured both women, with Tiel telling officers both of them were at the home while Fernandez denied being there.

Both women are being held on no bond due to the burglary charges.
