The Miami Dolphins honored Booker T. Washington High School’s football team by awarding them with a check of $23,585 for being the top ranked team in the country.
The money will pay for what the Dolphins call "national championship rings" for the high school football team.
The check was presented at a ceremony during a Miami-Dade County Comission meeting on Wednesday.
Dolphins President Tom Garfinkel presented the check along with Miami Dolphin Honor Roll wide receiver and Senior Vice President Nat Moore.
Booker T. Washington graduate and Pro Football Hall of Famer Larry Little also attended.
In 2012, the Booker T. Washington Tornadoes won the NFL High School Player Development National Championship.
