Miami Dolphins Moving Training Complex to Site by Hard Rock Stadium

The Miami Dolphins announced Tuesday that they’re moving their training facility to Miami Gardens, ending their association with Nova Southeastern University in Davie.

Dolphins CEO Tom Garfinkel made the announcement Tuesday afternoon during a press conference at Hard Rock Stadium. The site decision came after the Miami-Dade County Commission recently voted to subsidize the move.

The team plans to move its training facility from Davie to a new facility eight miles south to a site next to their stadium in north Miami-Dade County.

Team officials said the training headquarters will be built on team-owned land at an estimated cost between $75 million and $80 million.

The Dolphins do not have a definitive timeline for the move, but it would be before the start of the 2020 season.

The Dolphins have had their training headquarters at Nova since 1993.
