Miami Gardens Couple, Two Others Arrested After Police Find Children Living in Horrible Conditions

Four people are behind bars after police say they found multiple children living in horrible conditions inside a Miami Gardens home.

Police responded to a call in Northwest Miami-Dade Monday afternoon in reference to a sick child. Once they arrived at the home off NW 164th Street and 30th Avenue, they found roaches and feces throughout the house, along with dirty diapers and no food for the kids to eat.

Officers arrested 31-year-old Hugo Zuniga and 28-year-old Miosotiz Rodriguez, charging them both with five counts each of child neglect. According to their arrest form, both tested positive for marijuana and cocaine.

Two others inside the home, 44-year-old Rolando Arteaga and 25-year-old Jacqueline Garcia-Zuniga, were also arrested and charged with two counts each of child neglect. A hearing will be held Tuesday to determine what to do with the children involved as far as custody.
