A man was fatally shot in a robbery on Northwest 44th Street Tuesday, Miami Police said.

Marcus Smith, 58, who was shot several times, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Jackson Memorial Hospital, police said Tuesday night.

“We are getting word that they did take a watch from him, and possibly some other jewelry and money,” Cruz said.

Roberto Torres said the victim is the brother-in-law of the homeowner.

“I spoke to him this morning when I was here visiting my mom,” said Torres, who was there as a window repair company was working on the house moments before the shots were fired.

Smith was doing some work outside the home, police said.

Cruz urged the public to help as police search for the suspects.

“We do need somebody to please come forward,” he said.
