Police Investigating Video of Miami Cops Shoving Patrons at Out-of-Control Shoe Launch

Miami police have launched an internal investigation over a video showing officers shoving patrons at a shoe launch that turned out of control over the weekend in Downtown Miami.

Crowds of people Saturday afternoon flocked nearby Club Eleven on NE 11th Street after rumors of a limited edition sneaker launch location of the Sole Fly x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OGs circulated on the internet.

The crowd got out of hand and one officer ended up being hospitalized with minor injuries. A video posted on Instagram shows at least two officers angrily shoving patrons as cops with shields struggled to control the masses. (Caution: the video below contains explicit language)

Miami Police Department chief Jorge R. Colina said Monday "an open internal affairs investigation into the conduct of the officers involved is underway."

Witnesses told NBC 6 people were getting trampled and some tried to walk over the security barricades.

Sole Fly ended up canceling the day's shoe launch over safety reasons and said it has plans to reschedule the launch at a future date.
