Miami Woman Seeks Help Finding Dog That Went Missing After Crash

A Miami woman is asking for help finding her dog following a car crash on Florida's Turnpike near Orlando.

Orlando television station WFTV reports Linda Parr was heading home to Miami when her car overturned on Sunday. It took rescue crews about an hour to get her out of the vehicle.

Fire officials say Parr was taken to the hospital. Several people stopped to help including one person who freed Parr's puppy Leia from the vehicle. Another family kept the puppy until Parr's husband arrived from Miami.

But Stella, a Belgian Malinois shepherd, got away. Parr says Stella weighs 65 pounds and has a collar with an identification tag. The dog also has a microchip and knows multiple commands such as sit, stay and down.

"My dog Stella (Belgian Malinois Shepard) went missing along the Florida Turnpike on 08/09/15 around 11:00AM exit 167 in Winter Gardens, south bound," Parr wrote in a Facebook post Tuesday. "She is an intact, female, 17 months old, fawn body with a black mask, approximately 65 pounds. Please pass this information along in your Facebook community."
