Minor League Baseball Players Spend Close To $700 On Uber To Reach Game On Time

A few Seattle Mariners minor league baseball players didn’t want to wake up at 3 a.m. on a game day, so they booked a flight instead.

It’s unclear why the four players were unable to take the originally booked flight, but nonetheless, they decided to call an Uber for a trip from Phoenix to Albuquerque.

Pat Light, Mark Lowe, Daniel Vogelbach and D.J. Peterson spent $683.52 on the ride and found a driver willing to make the 7-hour trek. And perhaps most deflating is the fact that the Uber trip started at 2:55 a.m., so the group didn’t save any time.

The Triple-A players gave the driver a five-star rating.
