An 11-year-old girl has been found safe after authorities issued a Missing Child Alert Saturday morning.
The Gainesville Police Department confirmed on Facebook that 11-year-old Jahnia Fisher had been recovered safely after the Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a Missing Child Alert for the girl.
"The child has been recovered and we are in contact with all parties," the police department said in a statement on their Facebook page. "Thank you all for your help getting the word out quickly."
The child is believed to have been in the company of 30-year-old Jamal Fisher. Both were reported missing Friday, and FDLE believed the two were traveling in a 2007 red Mercedes-Benz C230 with the FL tag BZAC03.
Their relationship is not immediately clear, and it is unknown if Jamar Fisher has been located.
No other information was immediately available, and Gainesville PD will release further details as they become available.
