A missing child alert was issued Tuesday for a 7-year-old central Florida boy who went missing last week and whose mother was found dead in Orlando earlier this month.
Donovan Carruthers was last seen on June 18 in Davenport, Florida, in Polk County.
Carruthers may be in the company of 41-year-old Joseff Rhodes, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Donovan's mother, 32-year-old Elizabeth Carruthers, was found dead at a motel in Orlando on June 17, WFLA reported.
Authorities haven't released a cause of death for Elizabeth Carruthers but it has been classified as a homicide.
Rhodes was Elizabeth Carruthers' boyfriend and is not believed to be the boy's biological father, Department of Children and Families officials told WFLA.
Authorities said Carruthers is 4-foot-0, 60 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information is asked to call 1-888-FL MISSING.
