Missing Pembroke Pines Woman Returns Home Safe

Malika James, who reportedly went missing over the weekend of Art Basel, has returned home and is in good health, according to Pembroke Pines Police.

James, 28, returned one day after photos of her were obtained by police showing her at an ATM in Winter Haven, Florida on Monday morning. The images showed James in what police said was good physical condition and alone in her car.

Leonard James, Malika’s father, said Tuesday that it was completely out of his daughter's character to disappear. He said he heard from his daughter Saturday morning and she said she was heading home to let a family friend into the house to do some repair work. The friend told the father that Malika James let him in and left.

Friends distributed flyers and flooded the Internet and social media with pictures of James asking for the public’s help while she was missing.
