A Miami-Dade mother is accused of sending her 2-year-old daughter on a bus ride - alone.
The mother, Gayle Kelson, boarded a county public transit bus Tuesday morning with the child and then turned around and walked off the bus, police said.
The bus driver noticed what was going on and called to the Kelson, who continued to walk off the bus and down the street. The bus driver called police, who caught up with the 25-year-old mom a few blocks away from the bus stop. Mean while, the little girl stayed in place on the bus.
Police have charged Kelson with child neglect and her kids have been taken away and are currently in the care of the Department of Children and Families.
It's still unclear why Kelson left her child behind.
