Items listed in the auction include a wide array of forfeited and seized items and property the department is no longer using.

Looking for some fishing gear or a used patrol car for the holidays? Check out the Monroe County Sheriff's Office silent auction.

The Key West Citizen reports the auction is taking place this week at the sheriff's office in Key West. Items listed in the auction include a wide array of forfeited and seized items and property the department is no longer using.

The items are available for viewing Tuesday and Thursday at the sheriff's office.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Becky Herrin told the Citizen that last year's auction raised $26,000. Proceeds from sheriff's property, such as old patrol cars, goes to the county's general fund. Money from unclaimed property goes to the state school fund and profits from forfeited property from drug cases goes to the law enforcement fund.
