Mother, Store Manager Among 4 Arrested After Fight at Homestead Dairy Queen

What to Know

  • Homestead Police say the fight took place on Tuesday evening at the Dairy Queen located at 3330 Northeast 8th Street.

Police arrested four people – including a mother and a store manager – after a fight was caught on camera outside a Homestead fast food restaurant.

Homestead Police say the fight took place on Tuesday evening at the Dairy Queen located at 3330 Northeast 8th Street after the manager – later identified as 52-year-old Belinda Ahwach – got into an argument with an employee at the location.

After the employee called her mother – identified by police as 42-year-old Alicia Hodge – and told her about the incident, officials say Hodge came to the location and confronted the manager and struck Ahwach.

While Hodge and her daughter waited outside, investigators say Ahwach filled a pot with hot grease and went outside to throw it at the employee. Ahwach was later assaulted by both Hodge and her daughter as well as another family member.

Ahwach was charged with aggravated battery and assault while Hodge was charged with simple battery. Both the employee and family member, who police say are both juveniles, were charged with simple battery.

The employee suffered minor burns from the grease. Dairy Queen has not released a statement to NBC 6 regarding the incident.
