Police were responding to an accident involving a motorcycle trooper and another vehicle on the northbound turnpike at Southwest 120th Street Friday morning.
According to police, the motorman suffered serious injuries, but is expected to survive. The driver of the other car remained on the scene.
At least one person had to be air rescued to the hospital.
Right now, the off ramp of the turnpike northbound at Southwest 120th Street is shut down due to this accident. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
