MTA Bus Involved in Crash in Miami

Miami Fire Rescue crews responded to a crash involving an Metropolitan Transit Authority bus in Miami Wednesday morning.

Crews were called to the scene of the crash just before 8 a.m. MFR says the bus was headed eastbound on Northwest 46th Street while a Ford Explorer SUV was headed southbound on 18th Avenue when the SUV and the bus collided.

A Honda also sitting at that intersection was impacted by the crash.

The 18-year-old driver of the SUV was taken to Ryder Trauma Center. That person's condition isn't immediately known.

MFR says the bus driver and three passengers were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition. Three other bus passengers were evaluated and treated at the scene.

Traffic to the area might be impacted by the crash. Motorists should take alternate routes.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
