Multiple Cars Burglarized in Oakland Park

Detectives are investigating after multiple cars were burglarized in Oakland Park early Tuesday.

Between 25-30 vehicles were burglarized at the Lake Emerald and La Estancia communities, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Car windows were smashed and personal items were stolen from multiple vehicles, officials said.

Victims said they awoke to find shattered glass on the ground and their cars emptied of cash, credit cards, phone chargers, GPS systems and other items.

"I get to my door and I see the window is shattered. I look through and my center console is open," said one victim.

"I don't feel comfortable. I don't know if they can break into my house or what is going to be next," another victim added.

One resident said he had $190 in cash in his car when it was broken into. Meanwhile, others had their windows smashed but nothing stolen. Now, they're stuck with a repair bill.

Surveillance cameras picked up some of the activity, but nothing can be seen clearly.

Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 495-TIPS.
