Murder Trial Date for Diplomat's Son Pushed Back

The son of a Canadian diplomat will remain behind bars through the holidays.

The murder trial of Marc Wabafiyebazu is set to start in early 2016, rather than late next month as it was planned.

Wabafiyebazu was in court on Thursday when he received the news.

He's sitting behind bars on a first degree murder charge in the deaths of a teen and his older brother. Prosecutors said an attempted robbery became a shootout.

Anthony Rodriguez and Johan Ruiz Perez turned themselves in last week. The two are part of the murder case.

Rodriguez and Perez were facing charges of third degree murder and drug possession with intent to sell, but prosecutors offered them a deal. They dropped the murder charge in exchange for their testimony against Wabafiyebazu.

The two must complete boot camp and then will be on probation.
