A nude tourist ran into traffic -- and a taser -- in the Florida Keys Sunday.
43-year old Richard Gervasi was visiting the sunny Keys from cold Pennsylvania when he reportedly ran into traffic naked and yelled that he was "King of the World." When Monroe County deputies arrived, they found Gervasi and two of his friends, all running in traffic but Gervasi stood out. He was the only who had no clothes on.
When the officer told Gervasi to stop running, he refused and the deputy tasered him. But the shock from one of the Florida's finest just wasn't enough, and Gervasi continued his naked romp down U.S.1.
The deputy eventually had to taser him two more times to bring him under control. Gervasi told the arresting officer that he was "made of steel" and he had been drinking and took some LSD. Gervasi was charged with disturbing the peace and resisting arrest.
He was taken to the hospital for a gown and an evaluation, and then later to jail for an orange jumpsuit and formal charges.
This wasn't the first time someone in his birthday suit -- also claiming to have super powers -- had to be tased. Last year in Melbourne a jogger, wearing only goggles, got the shock treatment. The only thing better about that incident? It was all caught on video.
