NBC 6 Gives Rare Look at Muhammad Ali's Time in Miami

WTVJ NBC 6 is celebrating the memory of Muhammad Ali with rare video of his time in Miami and his special relationship with WTVJ and long-time sports director Bernie Rosen.

Rosen recalled that when Ali first came down to South Florida he lived in a little room in Overtown.

"We had the most unbelievable relationship with him," Rosen said. "Whenever he saw us he said 'just wait a minute' and he just took time out to do an interview with us, we had some magnificent film."

Rosen said one of his greatest memories of the champ was when he fought Sonny Liston for the World Heavyweight Championship in 1964 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

"That was just a great era and we were right there for everything," Rosen said.
