NBC 6's Roxanne Vargas Named Honorary Starter for NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship Race at Homestead-Miami Speedway

NASCAR’s Championship Weekend is back in Homestead this weekend – and one of our very one NBC 6 morning anchors will be getting quite the honor of starting the action in one of the races.

NBC 6’s Roxanne Vargas was named the honorary starter for Saturday’s Ford EcoBoost 300, crowing the champion of the Xfinity Series. The race gets underway starting at 3:30 PM and will be televised live on NBC Sports Network.

The race was the first event held at the Homestead-Miami Speedway back in 1995 and has been the final race of the season since 2002 for the Xfinity Series.

Tyler Reddick won last year’s race and the series championship and is one of the four drivers racing for the championship this year along with Justin Allgaier, Christopher Bell and Cole Cluster.
