Hit-and-Run Driver Crashes Into Girl's Bedroom in NE Miami-Dade

A driver ran away after crashing a vehicle into a 10-year-old girl's bedroom, nearly killing her, early Wednesday in northeast Miami-Dade.

The crash happened at 5 a.m. in the 500 block of NE 164th Terrace, according to Miami-Dade police.

The girl was sleeping when a BMW barreled through the residence gates, crashed into her room and stopped right next to her bed.

"I woke up and I heard a loud bang, and I heard my sister just screaming," said her brother, Erny Nunez. "My parents just rushed in and we just saw her just laying there."

The girl was taken to the hospital without any serious injuries and is expected to recover. No one else was injured.

The driver of the vehicle ran away from the scene. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
