Coast Guard officials left six tons of cocaine in South Florida confiscated in several missions, with an estimated street value of nearly $180 million.

The offload of the drugs, part of six different seizures from alleged drug smuggling vessels in the eastern Pacific Ocean, took place at Port Everglades Thursday.

The drugs were confiscated between late February and mid-April.

“Each successful interdiction is another successful step towards protecting our respective borders and citizens from the rising threat of transnational criminal organizations,” said Capt. Mark Fedor, commanding officer the cutter James – one of the three Coast Guard ships involved in the seizures.
