New Petition Urges Local Officials To Stop Allowing Music Festivals To Be Held At Bayfront Park

A group of downtown Miami residents have created a petition urging local officials to stop allowing music festivals to be held at Bayfront Park.

The petition, which was addressed to the city’s mayor, commissioners and park officials and drafted by the Miami Downtown Neighbors Alliance, comes after Bayfront Park “has been closed to the public or in a state of disrepair for over 100 days because of mega-concerts like Ultra and Rolling Loud,” the document says.

More than 1,100 supporters have signed the petition as of Wednesday afternoon.

The petition cites destruction of “the park’s environmental elements” and “unbearable noise, traffic and alcohol/drug-related violence" as reasons the concerts shouldn't be held at the park.
