New Terminal Opens at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport

The brand new Concourse G at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport welcomes its first flight on Tuesday.

Terminal 4 underwent a $450 million makeover to include Concourse G. Air travelers can expect more food and purchase options in the concession space which has grown from 2,128 square feet to a sprawling 28,000 square feet.

Passengers can also expect more destination options, as the expansion has made way to 12 gates for both international and domestic flights, as well as two gates dedicated to domestic flights.

Before the expansion, FLL had only six gates for international/domestic and just four for domestic only flights.

Other improvements include dual taxi lanes and a connector bridge to Terminal 3 -- allowing passengers to reach connecting flights without going through security again.

A Spirit Airlines flight from Myrtle Beach will be the first to use the brand new concourse.
