No Bond for Broward Man Accused of Stabbing Father in Back

A Broward man was denied bond Thursday as he faces an attempted murder charge after authorities say he stabbed his father in the back multiple times.

Thomas Arthur Wycoff, 27, was arrested in the Monday night stabbing of Thomas Wycoff Sr. in Pompano Beach, according to a Broward County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

Wycoff was denied bond during a court appearance Thursday. He was also denied a public defender and was expected back in court Friday.

According to the report, Wycoff stabbed his father multiple times in the back and in the back of his head and arms. Prosecutors said the elder Wycoff suffered 30 stab wounds.

The father had his kidney, liver and both lungs punctured and was taken to the intensive care unit at Broward Health North, where he underwent emergency surgery. He was in serious but stable condition, the report said.

Authorities found two bloody knives at the home in the 1800 block of Northeast 53rd Court where the father lives. Wycoff said he stays with his father once a week and lives with his wife across the street, the report said.

The wife said they have been separated since January "due to excessive drug use," the report said.

Wycoff denied stabbing his father, the report said.
