A teen charged with murder after his brother was shot and killed by a homeowner as they allegedly tried to burglarize a Miami home appeared in court Wednesday.
Vaughn Johnson, 18, is facing charges including second-degree murder and burglary in the March 10 incident in which his younger brother Trevon was killed.
Johnson was ordered held without bond Wednesday. He was appointed a public defender during the hearing.
Johnson and his brother allegedly tried to burglarize a home in northwest Miami-Dade but when the alarm was activated, the homeowner showed up and shot and killed Trevon.
Police said Johnson was arrested Tuesday and gave a video confession.
