Two people are counting their luck after their small plane made an emergency crash landing near a new residential neighborhood along the Treasure Coast.
NBC affiliate WPTV-TV said the incident occurred in Palm City on Monday afternoon when the fixed wing single engine Piper plane landed along Southwest Martin Highway.
Witnesses say the pilot – who was on board with another passenger – managed to land the plane without seriously damaging any of the homes or other structures in the new neighborhood.
Martin County officials said neither person on the plane was hurt during the incident.
