A massive fire had first responders working early Tuesday morning inside an Opa-locka junkyard.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews arrived at the scene near NW 127th Street and 33rd Avenue around 2:30 a.m. after reports of the fire inside a lot with cars used for parts – several of which were engulfed in flames.

Crews were able to contain the fire within an hour and there were no reports of injuries, with officials saying junkyard fires tend to be one of the hardest to extinguish due to the type of materials inside – including rubber, cloth and fuel.

Officials say 100 cars were scorched or completely destroyed.

No injuries were reported and residents living in the area are advised to stay inside if they have respiratory issues until the smoky conditions have full dissipated.
